Sam has been sailing since a very young age and started funboard at 12,  staying  10 years at the highest level, and culminating with a French Vice-Champion title.
He arrived in Tarifa in 2001 with the UCPA funboard and kite surf base, and taking advantage of the town’s strategic position, decided to launch Amiri Sails, servicing sailboats preparing for -or returning from- transatlantic crossings.
Today Amiri  Sails is the only Andalusian sailmaker to fully control the design and production of sails for boats from 18 to 70 feet.
Sam is a well-known competitor in the regional circuit and Gibraltar Strait League. He is the Andalusian Ocean Racing and  Double-Handed Champion won the « Zona Sur » National Championship,  and made a podium finish in the Huelva-La Gomera Ocean Race, linking the Spanish mainland with the Canary Islands

Jordi "Peke" Domenech is a native of Barcelona with a base in Cadiz. He has been sailing competitively since 11 y/o: Optimist, Laser, 470, and Tornado, the boat with which he represented Spain at the Seoul Olympic Games in 1988.
In 1989-1990, he took part in the Whitbread Round the World Race, rounding the three capes (Good Hope, Leeuwin, Horn) fully crewed aboard the Maxi Fortuna Extra Light, and became the unwilling central character of a legendary rescue by 50° South.
Today, Jordi continues to compete at the highest level, winning the Andalusian double-handed Championship, the Andalusian Offshore Championship, and the Spanish « Zona Sur » Championship.
He has worked with prestigious sailmakers before forming the Amiri Sails team with Sam in Tarifa. He also represents Dufour boats in the area and the MMW brand specialising in offshore IRC racing boats.
